The award winning Lumagen® Radiance™ video processor family now supports HDMI® 1.4 3D, including 3D scaling for anamorphic lens based systems.
Lumagen, Inc., a specialist in the design and manufacture of video products for the home and corporate markets, is announcing that the Consumer Electronics Association® 2010 Platinum Video Product of the Year, the RadianceXE, along with the entire Radiance product family, now boasts optional support for processing and scaling HDMI 1.4 3D.
Jim Peterson, Lumagen’s president, stated, “The Radiance architecture is designed to be flexible, and avoid the designed-in obsolescence common in the industry. This flexibility is demonstrated by our addition of HDMI 1.4 3D, including support for 3D processing, scaling, and aspect ratio control for 3D anamorphic lens based systems. As a further demonstration of its flexibility, the Radiance can now accept HDMI 1.4 3D material and output either the left-eye or right-eye only for dual projector 3D using passive 3D glasses.”
At the time of this press release, the Radiance has been reported to be the only consumer product that can scale Bluray® 3D movies properly when using anamorphic lens based projectors. The Radiance family provides a versatile backbone for high-definition theater systems and is perfectly suited for refining and enhancing the images presented by front projectors, and flat-panel displays. With up to 18 video, and 18 audio input sources, and two HDMI outputs, it offers the extensive switching, setup, and calibration, capabilities needed for large theater systems, at home, or in a corporate environment.
Proprietary No-ring™ scaling, linear-Gamma RGB-color-palette CMS, 21-point grayscale calibration, video deinterlacing, MPEG artifact reduction, and temporal noise reduction, combine to provide the best video quality available.
